I wish I had some kind of creative title for this post, but Thrive was such a whirlwind of laughter and tears (both happy and sad) that the weekend is a bit of a blur for me. Two years ago Bree and I had this crazy idae of starting a blog conference and with the support of the Houston blogger community, we made it happen. Then in 2016, we DOUBLED the size. That’s two times, y’all. Plus? We sold out. That’s right: we had a wait list. I don’t say that to brag, I say it because I literally cannot believe it.
Now I’m going to share some photos because I’m getting teary-eyed again and Meg’s photos are better than any words I could put on a page. (Also you’ll have to excuse me for not using tons of photos with me in them. I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off during the whole conference!)
To everyone that came to the conference: THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU. Seriously. Your continued support of this venture is invaluable. Your supportive texts, hugs, posts… all of it. YOU are Thrive. You make Thrive what it is.
To our speakers: You ladies are true rockstars. Each and every one of you. THANK YOU for taking time out your busy schedule to share your immense amount of knowledge with us. I’m honored to even be in the same room as you.
To our sponsors: When I say we can’t do it without you, I really mean it. We could not possibly do this without your support. We are able to bring these inspiring women together because of you, so THANK YOU.
To Meg: There aren’t enough words to explain how much I appreciate everything you do to support this conference. The photos you create are truly amazing. THANK YOU for capturing this fantastic weekend, and for being an amazing best friend.
To Bree: When we started this crazy journey two years ago, there is no way I ever imagined it getting to this point. THANK YOU for being the ying to my yang. We balance each other in the best possible way, and that is what has made us so successful. You’re amazing.
If you’re a blogger, I highly encourage you to go to a blogger conference. It doesn’t have to be Thrive. Just get out there and connect! It’s hard to be behind a computer and feel like you’re alone but I promise: you’re not alone in this journey! Get out there and connect with other bloggers. You won’t regret it!
