The First Blogs I Ever Read

August 20, 2013

When I first started my blog back in August of 2011, I hadn’t been reading blogs for long. Maybe a few months? Once I found the first blog on this list, it spiraled from there. These ladies are part of the reason that I began blogging in the first place. Each had their own unique voice and were actually quite different from each other.

Monograms and Manicures: unfortunately Helen no longer blogs, but she’s quite active on Instagram. I found her blog actually for a school project and just became hooked. (The project was on people who embody their favorite brand. I chose Helen and Lilly Pulitzer… and I got an A on the project!)

The Style Scribe: When I first found Merritt’s blog, it was called Manolos and Martinis and she lived in Houston. I was so impressed with all of her posts about the city and realized that there were people in the city to which I was moving that did this blogging thing!

Beantown Prepster: Part Deux: I’m sure I found BP’s blog through Helen and I was hooked. The distinctive voice that she used in her posts was so entertaining and drew me in immediately. Her “Weekend by Numbers” posts are my favs.

The Company She Keeps: BLC was the first blogger that I found in Charlotte, and I was lucky enough to start reading her blog before I moved from Charlotte to Houston. Now she’s pregnant and absolutely glowing!

Little Baby Garvin: I honestly have no idea how I stumbled upon this blog and to be honest, I only rediscovered it after looking through my old Google Dashboard! To think that I followed along with the journey of this family from the time they were only a few months along and now Harper is 18 months old…. it’s just amazing!

Texas Tales: Again, another blog that I cannot remember finding, but I remember being hooked! It’s another one that I rediscovered and I’m mesmerized to see these quadruplets (yes, FOUR babies) all grown up!

What were the first blogs that you read? Do you still read them now?

P.S. Do you guys like the new font in my post body? Wanted to get some feedback from y’all!
