The Charley Sweater

February 17, 2014

J. Crew Factory has been one of my favorite stores since I was in college. I love the stylish pieces that you can get for nearly nothing (and 15% off for college students? WIN.) Even to this day, I’d say at least 30% of my wardrobe is from J. Crew Factory. Basically any chance I get to go there, I take it.

On the drive from Nick’s parents’ house to my parents’ house a few days after Christmas, I begged Nick to take a 30 minute break from the short drive so that I could pop in to the J. Crew Factory store in Gaffney, SC. Little did I know… the whole store was 50% off. Say whaaaat. I took advantage of the sale and loaded up my arms with things to try on in the dressing room.

That was the day that I fell in love with the Charley sweater. I bought the mint sweater below and wore it almost constantly. As soon as we returned to Houston, I scooted over to our local J. Crew Factory and picked up the same sweater in navy. (My favorite is the cotton, but it looks to be sold out online. You can get it in Merino wool as well.) The neckline is flattering, I love where the sleeves hit on my arms, and it’s not too tight. If I had to wear one top for the rest of my life, it would definitely be this one.

Thanks to Sarah for snapping these pictures for me!

What’s your “desert island” shirt? (Even though I wouldn’t wear this on a desert island… ’cause that’s just not practical.)
