Last night as I was driving home from Houston, “Bossy” by Kelis came on my Spotify playlist and I laughed out loud. There are so many songs out there that we don’t even realize that we have forgotten, but if we heard them, we could sing (or rap) them from beginning to end.
The same thing happened just a few night ago, when Meg tweeted a link to “Don’t Let Go” by En Vogue. I had totally forgotten this song existed but knew every single word. Our brains are such interesting things, aren’t they?
You’ll notice I didn’t include any NSYNC or Backstreet Boys… I was really trying to go for those one hit wonders and not really obvious choices that they always use for nostalgia videos!
I’ve loved music since I was a kid, it’s definitely something that I attribute to my parents. There are home movies of us just hanging out and dancing to the radio. Even now, I can’t remember a time when I didn’t have a song stuck in my head or wasn’t singing to myself. I even work best when I have music in the background. Music is such a big part of my life and one of my true passions. I can’t believe that I haven’t shared it more on the blog. I promise to feature it more, if it’s something you’d like to see?
Kind of on the same note, this happened last night. I wasn’t sure how to react.
What songs would you add to the list?
Do any of these trigger memories?
Linking up for…
