That Time I Professed My Love

May 5, 2013

I’m so glad to be keeping up with the Blog Every Day in May challenge! In all honesty, today’s prompt is actually what influenced me most to participate in the challenge. I love sharing my favorite blogs and like I’ve mentioned a million times now, I’ve been so fortunate to find some amazing friends through the blogging community. I think it’s almost impossible to narrow it down to just one friend, so I have a few to introduce you to!

Betsy Betsy Transatlantically

I remember stumbling upon Betsy’s blog for the first time and being so envious of her life in England. A cute British boyfriend and an amazing life in the one place I want to visit most? Pretty awesome, huh? I was so happy for her and Jon when they got engaged and over the past year, we became very good friends and talk almost daily! She now lives back in the States and I can’t wait for the time when we can meet up. I bounce ideas and get advice from her all of the time. I honestly don’t know what I’d do without her!

Megan Greetings from Texas

This woman? Is inspiring. That’s the best way I know to describe her. Not only did she overcome ovarian cancer in her twenties, but she also created and executed the Houston Blogger Symposium last year. It was the best time I’ve had in Houston since I moved here in Jan. of 2012. Now she’s a mom to a beautiful little girl Macy, has the most hilarious husband (other than mine) and a damn cute dog. In the few times I’ve been able to talk to Meg, I’ve constantly been laughing. If you’ve never read her blog, you need to run, not walk, to get over there pronto.

Lindsay Trial by Sapphire

The first time I saw Lindsay’s blog, I was totally taken aback at how different it was from the preppy Southern blogs I had been reading before. Lindsay is from California, but lives in Houston now. She’s all about natural living, is a vegetarian, and doesn’t obsess over the latest trends. The first time we met, we totally hit it off. In all honesty, I’m surprised I didn’t scare her away! (“OH MY GOSH, so you’re NOT 5’10”??”) Since last June, I’ve been so lucky to hang with her on a regular basis. Since we live in the same area of Houston, we’re much closer to each other than any of the other Houston bloggers (geographically speaking) and because of that, I’ve been able to get to know her so well. She’s my big sister!

L. – Wishin’ Good Luck

Unlike the rest of these ladies, I’ve known L for quite a long time, since 2007. We’ve never actually met in person, but I’m convinced that we are soul mates. We’re both sorority girls, held the same position in our respective sororities, both from the East Coast, bookworms, into cool music… the list goes on. When I found out that she had a blog, I freaked out. This girl has taken in the blog world by storm, at least in my eyes. Her posts are always super interested. Who else can post about the history of the papacy and get away with it? No one, that’s who. L is amazing and you need to check her out this second.

MegEveryday Meg

When I first saw Meg’s blog, I was intrigued by her sweet face, hilarious posts and friendliness. I met her for the first time last June and immediately we clicked. She has since moved just a few miles up the road from me and I couldn’t be more ecstatic. She is one of the nicest, most genuine people that you’ll ever meet. Plus, she’s an AMAZING photographer. Being able to meet up with this girl for happy hour and talk for hours on end is so amazing. We have so much in common but are also so different too. Meg is honestly one of the coolest people I’ve ever met.
