I have a confession to make: as much of a TV person as I am… I mostly watch reruns or old shows on Netflix. I’m also in the middle of somewhat of a DVR overload.
See, my routine is this: when I get home from work, I’ll watch “How I Met Your Mother” reruns on The CW. This is probably one of the only shows that I could watch constantly and never get sick of watching.
Then hubby and I sit down to dinner and flip on The West Wing. We just started watching a few months ago and I’m so in love with this show. Each episode leaves me feeling so emotional, whether that be happy or sad. I also have a severe crush on Josh Lyman. Seriously, y’all. It’s a problem.
Then, my evening ends with at least one 90’s throwback: Full House, The Nanny, or Friends. (Thanks Nickelodeon!)
The problem is that I would prefer to watch these shows over new ones 90% of the time. My DVR? Is full of shows just waiting to be watched. And I don’t just mean a few episodes here and there. Let’s take a look, shall we?
There are 10 episodes of The Simpsons, 17 episodes of The Venture Brothers, and 19 of The Big Bang Theory. Not to mention the shows that have been on there for almost a full year… (*cough* Revolution *cough*)
When it comes to TV that comes on now, there are only a few shows that I watch during the summer: America’s Got Talent and True Blood. I’m actually watching America’s Next Top Model this cycle but probably because I’m hoping that two contestants will get together on the show. (yes, that’s right: there are guys on ANTM now.)
So now that I’ve bored you all with my 1990’s television lineup, I have to know…
Does anyone else do this? Please tell me I’m not alone!
