That Time I Ate Some Amazing Food Made By Cat Cora

December 7, 2012

I had the amazing opportunity Wednesday night to join Macy’s Culinary Council at Memorial City Mall for a cooking demonstration with one of my new favorite chefs, Cat Cora. Thankfully, two of my blogger friends Myra and Michelle were there as well, so I didn’t feel too alone!

If you haven’t been introduced to Cat Cora, here’s the low down: she’s the only female Iron Chef on Food Network’s Iron Chef America. She’s opened three farm-to-table restaurants in airports across the USA. Her recipes are inspired by her Greek heritage and Southern raisin’. Basically, she’s all around awesome, and super nice to boot!

The recipes that she made are all featured in the Macy’s Culinary Council Thanksgiving & Holiday Cookbook, and y’all: they were AMAZING. I’m all about simple recipes that don’t take much time and are easy to create. I haven’t made these on my own yet, but I am pretty confident that when I make them, I’ll be able to at least get close. I love that!

Slow Roasted Bourbon Pork with Hot Mustard, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Sauteed Kale with Garlic.

Isn’t she pretty?! She was so short too!

(Because I have a crappy camera, I wasn’t able to get any pictures of me and the girls but when they upload them, I will share them with y’all.)

I got my copy of the cookbook in the mail yesterday and I seriously cannot wait to try some of the recipes in it!
