It seems like Houston has two different seasons: hot and humid, then cold and wet. Currently we are in the middle of that wet season. As we all have heard, “April showers bring May flowers,” so I’m expecting this wet season to last at least another month. Over the past three weeks, we’ve had maybe three or four days of sunny weather. I’m kind of starting to go a little insane.
On top of all of this rainy weather on a regular basis, this weekend I’m headed to Texas Style Council and it’s set to be a wet one. Thankfully it’s a great excuse to buy a new pair of rain boots! (I’m currently still wearing a pair that I bought in college. They look like I’ve been working in the fields for years, so it was about time to retire them.)
I’ve always wanted a pair of Hunter boots, but I have a really hard time spending that much on a pair of boots! I grabbed a pair of adorable black shiny boots from Target yesterday and I can’t wait to show them off this weekend. There were lots of other options online, but I needed something before we (Meg and I!) leave on our road trip on Friday.
If you’re anything like me and hate getting the bottom of your pants wet when it’s raining (seriously it’s like nails on a chalkboard for me) then you need to grab some rain boots. Here are just a few of my favorite picks under $50.
I prefer black when it comes to rain boots so that I can wear them with anything. But bright colors are always fun too! How adorable are those red ones with the ducks on them? The pair I bought from Target look the same as the mint ones above, but in black. I’ll definitely be prepared this weekend!
