I have to admit, even though I like to think I’m pretty up to date on trends in fashion, I can’t say that I’m the most up to date as far as my personal style goes. Typically when NYC Fashion Week comes around, I’m sitting on this side of the computer screen (probably in my PJs… on my couch… eating Blue Bell. Whatever, I’m getting cheese fries) just wondering how in the world I can incorporate these trends into my daily personal style in an affordable way.
Recently I had the chance to attend Macy’s Fashion’s Front Row in The Woodlands and was so surprised by the outfits that were modeled. Stylish, on trend AND affordable? That’s right up my alley.
Here are a few of my favorite looks from the fashion row:
What is more perfect for fall than plaid? Not only is this blue plaid dress adorable, this Tommy Hilfiger utility jacket is to die for. And those open toe booties are absolutely perfect for fall in Houston (also known as “a cooler summer”).
I’ve never been a huge fan of faux fur vests but for some reason this one totally struck me! It doesn’t look too fluffy or that it’s trying too hard to look like a sheep. Combined with a busy pattern, colored tights and gorgeous boots, this would be a great look for a girls night out on the town! (Also, can we talk about how cute Candace is in the background? She is wearing the same vest!)
There is nothing more classic than black and white. I attended another Macy’s fashion event a few years ago and black and white was a trend then as well. This look never goes out of style! I’m a huge fan of structured dresses like this for the office. I’ve also been on the look out for a cute quilted black bag. I’m starting to think that I need to go back to Macy’s and pick this one up…
I’m not sure what my favorite part of this look is… the moto jacket, the faux leather leggings, the sweater with under shirt or the shoes? Honestly I can’t decide. This look is probably a little too warm for fall in Houston but you better believe that I’ll be rocking something similar to this at Thrive in February!
What are your favorite fall trends this season? What are your favorite ways to work high fashion into your everyday look?
