Lots of Thoughts

January 22, 2012

I’m sorry that I haven’t been very upbeat or original lately. I’ve been having a serious case of something. It’s not writer’s block. It’s not laziness. It’s not (totally) jealousy of beautiful blog designs.

I guess I’m just in need of some encouragement of some kind. I should be on top of the world! I have 26 amazing followers. I got a job this week. My husband got a job this week. But something seems to be missing…. and I have a feeling that it’s in South Carolina.

Next weekend is my sorority’s formal recruitment. It’ll be the first one that I haven’t been at/participated in since I went through in September of 2007. I’ve seen a few bloggers taking time to participate in their sorority’s recruitment and it just makes me miss my sisters back in South Carolina.

Don’t get me wrong. I love my husband and our two friends that we’ve made out here. But the bond with your sisterhood is something so strong that it can’t simply be replaced. Even a friend of ours here was helping her own sorority this weekend in their formal recruitment.

I guess what I’m in need of is… friends. That sounds pitiful, doesn’t it? I just want some kind of social interaction. I’ll be starting my job on February 1st, but I just want a group of girls go hang out with, get drinks with, shop with. I’ve relied on reading blogs for social interaction over the past two weeks so much that I didn’t understand why no one was posting last night and tonight until I realized that it was Friday and Saturday night and you all were probably hanging out with your friends… in real life.

I know this was really wordy and whiny, but I really appreciate you taking the time to read it. I’ll leave you all with some pictures of my amazing sisterhood. I wish them all the best of luck with recruitment next weekend. I wish I could be with y’all, but I know that you will do great and bring us a bunch of beautiful new baby turtles!

Our first pledge class baby! Baby Brody will have lots of aunts :)

Some of my sisters at my wedding. It wouldn’t have been the same without them. BTW, Rho Gamma, we love you!

Lindsay and I were bridesmaids in Kelly’s beautiful Charleston wedding.

Just hanging out at HQ in Oxford, Ohio.

Essentially… us in a nutsell.

Our beautiful letters. (with my little, Sam!)

Even though we weren’t DZs at the same chapter, Rebecca is one of my best friends. I love her!

I love my twin, Allison <3

Little #1, Margaret

Silly turtle hat!

P.S. I PROMISE to try to lay off the changing of my design. I’ve done it about ten times in the past two days. I’m just unhappy with it and trying to work with what I’ve got!
