Election Day

November 6, 2012

As someone who was a political science major for 2 years of college, and actively involved with Model UN throughout high school, I’ve been pretty interested in politics for quite a while. I’ve gone back and forth between what party I supported many times, but I’m proud to say that I served as the president of the College Democrats at my college, served as Communications director for the College Democrats of South Carolina for a semester, and cast my vote by absentee ballot for Barack Obama.

Don’t know what’s up with my crazy hair…

There are many reasons that I support Obama, but I’m sure you’ve made up your mind and maybe have already voted.

All I can tell you is PLEASE vote. There’s a reason for it. Think your vote doesn’t count? Wrong. There are so many local and state election in which your vote DOES count. I think Rachel said it better than I will ever be able to. Seriously, click that link and go read her post.

And remember: the President doesn’t work alone. There are senators and representatives and so many others that work with him that you will vote
on too.

No matter who you are voting for, just do it. If your candidate wins, great! If he doesn’t, don’t share unkind words. Don’t be rude or hateful. Simply wish for the best. That’s all any of us can do.

Are you interested in politics? Have you voted today?
