I’m in my final days as a Texan (head to Instagram to catch the big news if you missed it) so I’m taking these last few days to soak in all of the culture and excitement that I can before we load up the moving truck and head east.
One of the things I have enjoyed the most about living in Texas is the shopping. The adorable shops and boutiques across the area are one of my favorite things about the Houston area. I recently visited A Splash of Sass in Cypress and spent hours perusing the racks. (I wish I could say I was exaggerating… I was literally there for 2 hours.) I was greeted by a gorgeous display of boots and accessories begging to be worn to Rodeo Houston. That’s Texas, y’all!
Amongst the racks of gorgeous fringe dresses, badass t-shirts and tank tops, adorable shoes and colorful shoes, I found this dress. And this dress is quickly becoming one of my favorites. (Joy Joy is a brand based out of Sugar Land, so I can take a piece of Texas with me wherever I go!)
“Dressing like a Texan” to me means standing out from the crowd and this dress does just that. SO many of the pieces at A Splash of Sass were just that: unique and eye-catching. When you’re shopping at a boutique, who wants to wear the same thing as everyone else? I’m embracing this philosophy and plan to carry it back to the Carolinas!
This outfit was perfect for my goodbye dinner (I can’t say that without tearing up a little…) with some of my favorite blogger ladies.

A huge thank you to Meg for taking these photos for me! You rock, lady!
If your state had a fashion sense, what would it be like? For those readers that live in Texas, do you agree with my philosophy?
