Before I start this post, I just want to say: I’ve never been good at certain things when it comes to the blog. Whenever I give myself a goal, I usually don’t make that goal (posting at certain number of times a week, etc.). I mentioned in my last post that I wasn’t going to be blogging anymore… well, obviously I’m not too good at that either. As soon as I pushed publish on that post, I started having tons of great ideas come to me. So for now, I’m back. And I hope you’ll have me.
In honor of Nick’s 28th birthday (happy birthday, love!) I just had to share with you all my newest obsession: Topgolf. For those of you that aren’t familiar: Topgolf at its core is an indoor driving range. But it really is so much more than that. There are three levels, first of all. That’s kind of awesome. Throw in some amazing food and drinks and you have me.
Topgolf isn’t exactly new to the blogging world. I know many other bloggers that are just as obsessed as I am! But it is new to my neck of the woods here in North Houston (aka Spring) and y’all: this could be dangerous. I’m not a golfer whatsoever, but Topgolf is so fun.
Nick and I had the opportunity to visit Topgolf North Houston the week before their grand opening and I was so excited to be one of the first to visit the location! When we arrived we were met with something called “mushi.” If you’re anywhere near this location, you need to get this right now. It’s Mexican style sushi and made my tummy very very happy. The Orange Dream was the perfect drink to pair with this spicy dish as well.
Did you guys know that all of the food at Topgolf is prepared fresh on location every morning? That truly blew me away! Before we made our way to the bays, we grabbed plates full of pickle fried chicken, shrimp and grits, and lots of other delicious goodies, including injectable donut holes. It’s a miracle we were able to play at all. My stomach was stuffed. (This doesn’t include the Caramel Sea Salt Blonde Brownie Bites that they sent us home with. I have dreams about those, y’all.)
Once our bellies we were full, we grabbed some clubs and attempted to hit a few balls. What I love about Topgolf is that you don’t have to be a golf expert to play. It’s not all about who can hit the balls the furthest (though that does help). There are multiple games that you can play against your friends! You really just need to check it out for yourself. Thankfully there are now two locations in Houston so you won’t have to travel too far to play.
If you’re a member of the Houston Blogger Social Club, you’ll have the opportunity to play some Topgolf at our June meetup! Need details? Shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Oh, and happy birthday to this silly guy:
