This weekend was a pretty busy one. Lura came up to my place early (okay… 10 a.m.) on Saturday and we made our rounds to the various stores in the area to get what we needed for the house.
The first stop was Wal-Mart. Now, I’m not typically a Wal-Mart shopper. Target has spoiled me, what can I say? But they had a great deal on a pretty nice slipcover for the couch. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the one that we were looking for. I’m not the kind of person to order things online. I subscribe to the ‘instant gratification’ class of human. Fortunately, there was a chocolate brown slipcover that was quite soft there. We decided to look around a few other places before deciding on it, but we did end up getting it. We also hit up HomeGoods (my new favorite store since moving here), Target, and JoAnn’s.
I think I mentioned that we were trying to decorate on a budget, so I set out with the intention of making some pretty big changes with only $200 to spend. I also seem to have an obsession with patterns (especially quatrefoil.)
Here’s what I got:
One panel of these curtains. Lura’s doing something with them for me!
It’s a little wrinkly, but we’re working on it. It’s much better than the plaid!!
Lura made this pillow from an existing one that I had! The fabric is Tommy Bahama.
This little toy basket was only $7.99 at HomeGoods. We needed a place for Anabelle’s toys.
I loved the pattern and it matched our kitchen colors!
I am actually going to have to return this lamp shade. It doesn’t fit the lamp!
I’m only giving you a sneek peek of the new bed set since it’s super wrinkled!
Of course I have to include the obligatory animal photos. Susie really seemed to love the new slipcover!
Sunday was spent at the outlet mall, Petsmart, and the grocery store. Anabelle had her nails trimmed for the first time and I got a new outfit from the J. Crew factory store! Yay for work pants!
Stay tuned to the blog tomorrow for a BIG announcement!!
P.S. I have a few feature spots available and I’m planning on raising sponsor prices soon so go ahead and sign up today!!
