I can’t wait to introduce you guys to the May Blogger of the Month: Rachel from Just Peachy! Just Peachy is one of the first blogs I started reading. I was immediately drawn in by her style. It’s so unique and very different than a lot of other fashion bloggers out there. In fact, I often find myself standing at my closet thinking, “Would Rachel wear this?” It’s an obsession, I tell you. Having known Rachel for about three years now, she was the natural choice for May Blogger of the Month. I have to admit, I’m a little sad that I don’t live in SC anymore simply for the fact that I can’t run down to Atlanta and meet up with this lady!
Rachel was kind enough to answer some questions so that y’all could get to know her. Read more below!
1. Why did you start blogging?
R: I started blogging as a creative outlet in college when I had too many clothes and too much time on my hands. When I first started, I blogged more about what I was doing with friends and activities in school, and now I do less personal and more lifestyle/fashion.
2. What do you think makes your blog unique compared to other fashion bloggers?
R: I think I have a fairly unique style, at least compared to other style bloggers in the South. I don’t dress extremely girly and I wear a lot of casual, every day clothes that you can find locally and on sale. Best of all – all of my outfits are wearable.
3. How would you describe your style?
Honestly, there’s no one word to describe it, except maybe “Madewell”. I’m a girly tomboy who likes stripes and skinny jeans. T-shirts, oversized sweaters and bohemian patterns. I wish I had more of a Free People feel, so sometimes that bohemian side comes out. Clothes that can easily be worn to yoga then out to eat. I’m hard to describe, but all about comfort.
4. What are your top five places to shop?
1. Madewell 2. Urban Outfitters 3. Free People 4. Nordstrom/Nordstrom Rack 5. Anthropologie
5. What’s your favorite part about blogging?
Having something that’s mine, that I’m known for, that all of the world can see if they wanted to. Also, some of my very best friends I made through blogging, so I’m so thankful for that!
6. Tell us something about you that we might not know!
R: I hate Facebook, but I work in social media so I am forced to like it. Also, I think I may be allergic to peaches – ironic!
7. If you were stranded on a desert island, which three bloggers would you want there with you?
R: Bre at Baubles and Bubbly (my bff!), Mireille at City Peach (she’s always cracking me up!) and the Peachtree Roadies (I know that’s cheating, but they’re soo nice and fun).
8. What’s your favorite snack and drink?
R: Snack – yogurt covered pretzels. Drink – cherry coke or good sweet tea.
9. What’s your favorite thing about living in Atlanta?
R: Definitely the weather and all of the green trees! Even if you live right in the middle of the city you’re surrounded by tons of green. I also like that it’s a bustling city, but still feels country. Southern accents are so charming and welcoming (I don’t have one, I’m from Michigan!) and people are generally nice (when not driving/causing traffic.) and there’s so many neighborhoods to explore. Oh and my family lives here.
