Growing up, for me Mary Kay was my grandmother. Her entire bathroom counter was covered in lipsticks from Mary Kay. I always wanted to play with the little pink tubes and I just thought they were the coolest thing in the world.
Once I got to college, a good friend of mine became a Mary Kay consultant and hosted a party at the home of another good friend of ours. We had our mini-facials and makeup done and I thought it was just so neat. So much so that when the "recruiter" asked if I might be interested in joining Mary Kay for myself, I hopped right on it. Well, a few days later I had second thoughts and backed out. That's when it all began.
The recruiter wouldn't stop calling me. I would have random Mary Kay consultants come up to me in Target and ask if I wanted to model for them or host a party. Everywhere I looked, I was being followed (or it seemed like it) by pink Cadillacs!
When Lynn emailed me a few months ago to ask if I wanted to try some Mary Kay products, my first reaction was RUUUUUN! But, after thinking it over, I decided that I was going to give it a try. And boy, am I glad that I did!
The first thing I did was use the Timewise Microdermabrasion, Eye Cream, and Moisturizers. Right now, I don't use anything on my face on a daily basis other than Neutrogena Make-up Remover Wipes and I can tell you that I felt a huge difference after I was done. My skin was so soft!
I couldn't wait to try on the makeup that she sent me. I know that Mary Kay products are great quality but I was so impressed with everything. I even forgot to take it off the night before and most of the product was still on! I have such a hard time with products fading during the day but I loved how long it stayed on. The step-by-step instructions really helped too, since I'm awful at putting on makeup!
My favorite product? The primer, under-eye concealer, and lipstick.
Before, Foundation, Full Makeup
So, Mary Kay, let's put our differences behind us and move on. I think it's going to be a wonderful friendship.
*I was not compensated for this post. I was provided these products for review by a Mary Kay Representative and all opinions are my own.*
Have you ever tried Mary Kay products before?
