Happy New Year from Whitney & Nick!
Of course with it being New Years Eve, we're all sharing our resolutions and goals for the new year. There are so many things that I want to improve on in 2013, but mostly I'd like to focus on my health. Nick and I are both pretty unhappy with the way that we look and feel, so we are trying to set goals to improve that.
Health:
1. Run a 5K. I know that running is something that I have not enjoyed doing in the past, but setting a definite goal will inspire me to really train. I don't want to fall down in the middle of a race! A few Houston bloggers have decided to do a race in February and thankfully it's a fun run. Still it's a great kick in the butt to get started.
2. Cut out soda. Even though I am a Coca-Cola addict, I've really got to cut out those sugary drinks. Thankfully I already drink a large amount of water, so this shouldn't be too difficult. In theory.
3. Work out at least three times a week for an hour. Three times a week may seem low to those of you that work out every day, but going from never working out to working out every day may be a little unrealistic. I think getting off my butt for that amount of time will definitely help.
4. Replace junk snacks with healthy snacks. I'm very much a snacker. I love popcorn, cookies, chips, and cheese. I've got to work on making healthy decisions on my food! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Money:
1. Stick to a budget. Without going into too many details, Nick and I are reeeeeally bad about not cooking at home and eating out instead. We spend way more than we should and we really need to control that!
Blogging:
1. Post at least three times a week. Self explanatory. I want to have great content that you guys and gals want to read and keep you coming back regularly!
2. Begin sponsoring at least one blog a month. I would love to begin investing my money to grow my blog and support other bloggers.
3. Attend a blogging conference. Even though I don't know if I'll be able to attend Blissdom in March (which would be perfect since it's in Dallas!) I'd like to at least have plans to attend one in 2013 or at the beginning of 2014.
Do you share any of these goals for 2013?
What are you resolutions for the new year?

I really should start working out too. I never do, so three times a week seems like a good start to me. Brian and I were just discussing how we can change our lifestyle to be more healthy. I want to lose a few pounds and tone up. Definitely not happy with myself right now, but it could be due to the fact that I've eaten so much junk food over the holidays (including an entire box of peanut butter fudge...I basically finished it off myself) :/
Happy New Year!
Happy New Year love! Hope you keep all of your resolutions!
Love the new blog design! It's really pretty and clean.
You have some great goals! Stay focused and I'm sure you'll keep them all!

Love the new design, lady!! I need to do my resolution post - potentially tomorrow? I failed miserably on my 2012 goals, so we'll see. ;)
Cheers to 2013!
Love your new design!! Great goals, too :) I need to cut out my soda as well...it's tough because I, too, LOVE Coca Cola:) Happy New Year!

YAAAAY for a new design :)
Aren't they so fun and just make you want to blog that much more?!
I think your goals are all super reachable...get it giiiirl!
HAPPY 2013!
xo!
I like the blog design! Yes, I have several of the same ones. I cut out cokes awhile back which is HARD but oh so worth it. :) And i don't crave them anymore! From one coca-cola addict to another - it's possible. ;)
One of mine this year is to exercise 3-4 times a week. I haven't been doing it either, although i used to be hardcore!
Stick to budget - yeah, me too!
The new design looks fantastic Whitney! And good luck with all these goals for 2013. I could probably steal a few of them from you ;) xoxo
On the snacking - maybe you could start by making snacks you like a little healthier. We got a popcorn maker last Xmas, and it's way healthier (and cheaper) to pop your own rather than buy the bags. Cheese isn't too bad either in moderation, especially in moderation.
We used to spend a bunch of money eating out too, but working on weekly meal planning (not the heavy, sit down and map it out type thing, but just having a meal in mind for each weekday) has really helped with that. Having Pinterest around makes finding new/easy meals way easier too.
These are wonderful goals and completely attainable, Whit! It's going to be a great year!
I can't wait for the Color in Motion 5K! Let me know when you're ready to register, so I can make sure the team name is set. :)
Definitely an inspiring list! I have got to get my booty moving this year; my life is so sedentary! Love the new blog look girl!
Love these goals! They are pretty much right in line with my own goals!
Looks Great!!! Happy new year.

hope youre having a fab new year! xoxo
Loving your new design, very nice!
I want to run a 5K this year too! We should do one together :)
I loooooooooove the new design!
What a fun design! In answer to your snack question, I love snacking on nuts (almonds and pistachios, especially). You have to be sure not to eat too many, but it's a healthy alternative to chips! :)
Happy New Year! :)
We share A LOT of the same goals! I just need to start working on them! haha
